Austin Thiess makes return to competition with sixth-place finish at Southern Oklahoma

After more than a month away from the racetrack, Austin Thiess returned to his No. 7D Late Model at Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Okla.) on Saturday evening.

With 18 American Crate Late Model Series cars on site, Theiss moved from fourth-to-second in his heat race to earn a starting spot on the second-row. For the $1,500-to-win feature, Austin finished just outside the Top-5 in sixth.
