February 28th, 2015 - Theiss Motorsports Travels to El Paso Speedway Park for USMTS Icebreaker
1The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) took the team to El Paso Speedway Park (El Paso, Texas) over the weekend for the 2nd Annual Icebreaker.

Thirty Open Wheel Modified warriors registered for Thursday night's opener, which boosted a $2,000 top prize. With the top sixteen in passing points locking into the main event, a tenth to seven run in his heat race left Austin just short of the mark and sent him to a b-main. He went on to finish fifth in his b-main, earning him the 21st starting position for the 30-lap feature. Theiss progressively worked his way forward during the main event to register a solid eleventh place finish at the checkered flag.

Friday night's program saw the purse increase to $3,000-to-win, and twenty-eight entries returned for battle. Austin struggled in his heat race, slipping to a seventh place finish after starting second, which forced him to run a b-main. He raced to a third place finish in the b-main to lock into the 21st position on the starting grid. Despite handling issues on his #7D Theiss Motorsports/MB Customs/Mullins Racing Engines Open Wheel Modified, Theiss climbed forward in the 40-lap feature to a fourteenth place finish in the final rundown.

The 2nd Annual Icebreaker at El Paso Speedway Park ended on Saturday night with the $4,000-to-win finale, which was twenty-eight entries converge on the 3/8-mile oval. Austin started deep in his heat race and only managed an eighth place finish, sending him to a b-main. A fifth pace in the b-main locked Theiss into the 21st starting spot for the 50-lap main event. He advanced three positions in the feature to an eighteenth place finish.

February 21st, 2015 - USMTS Invades Royal Purple Raceway for Tripleheader
1Austin Theiss returned to action with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).

Activities kicked off on Thursday night with a $2,000-to-win race that drew a talent-laden field of fifty-three entries. Austin started his night on a strong note, charging to a heat race win from the front row to earn a spot in the evening's redraw. Theiss drew the pole position for the 30-lap main event with fellow Rookie of the Year contender, Austin Arneson alongside. Austin battled the handle on his #7D Theiss Motorsports/MB Customs/Mullins Racing Engines entry during the feature, slipping backwards to a nineteenth place finish.

Fifty-five Open Wheel Modified registered for battle on Friday evening as the winner's check increased to $3,000. Austin drew the fourth starting spot for his heat race, and with the top twelve in passing points lock into the main event he fell just short of the mark. As a result, Theiss would have to run a b-main where he finished sixth, just two spots short of a transfer position into the 40-lap feature, ending his night early.

Saturday night's $4,000-to-win finale at Royal Purple Raceway fell victim to Mother Nature.

February 14th, 2015 - Theiss Opens 2015 Season with USMTS at Shady Oaks Speedway

Thirty-two entries registered for the $2,000-to-win program, which was sanctioned by the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). Austin would fail to reach a transfer position in preliminary action after struggling with fuel issues throughout the night, utilizing a series provisional to lock in the 23rd starting spot for the feature. During the course of the 30-lap main event, Theiss advanced six spots en route to a seventeenth place finish in the final rundown.

Thirty-four Open Wheel Modified warriors filled the pit area for Friday night's program, as the winner's check increased to $3,000. An eighth to fifth run in heat race action left Austin just short of locking into the 35-lap finale. However, a second place finish in his b-main would earn him the fifteenth starting spot on the feature grid. Theiss went on to cross the finish line in the thirteenth position.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday evening with the $4,000-to-win final for USMTS competitors. Thirty-three entries converged on the oval, and a solid third place finish in his heat race earned Austin the twelfth starting position on the feature grid. Theiss battled the handle on his #7D Theiss Motorsports/MB Customs entry during the 40-lap feature, settling to a sixteenth place finish at the checkered flag.
