August 9th, 2014 - Theiss Continues The Hunt
1Austin opened a four-day stretch on the Hunt for the Casey's Cup with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) on Thursday night at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas). Thirty-seven entries took to the oval, but unfortunately Theiss failed to reach a transfer position into the main event, bringing his night to an early end.

Action resumed on Friday evening at Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas), where thirty-three entries filled the pit area to battle for the $3,000 winner's check. Austin once again battled the handle on his #7D Theiss Motorsports/LG21/Mullins Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified, ultimately failing to lock into the finale.

It was announced early on Saturday night that Sunday's program at West Siloam Speedway was cancelled due to inclement weather. With that, the busy weekend drew to a close at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri). A talent-laden field of forty-eight Open Wheel Modified warriors registered for the $3,000-to-win race. The team continued to struggled to find the setup, and failed to transfer into the feature.

August 3rd, 2014 - Austin Theiss Enters Hunt for Casey's Cup
1Austin Theiss joined the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) to kick off the Hunt for the Casey's Cup over the weekend.

Round #1 was contested on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas), which saw thirty-three Open Wheel Modifieds register for battle. Austin battled the handle on his #7D Theiss Motorsports/LG21/Mullins Racing Engine entry, and ultimately failed to transfer into the $3,000-to-win main event.

Saturday night found the team pitted at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri) for another $3,000-to-win program. Austin went into battle against a stout field of thirty-eight competitors, but unfortunately he failed to make the feature when mechanical issues brought his night to an early end.

The weekend drew to a close on Sunday evening with a $3,000-to-win, USMTS event at Monett Speedway (Monett, Missouri). Thirty-three Open Wheel Modifieds converged on the 3/8 mile oval, as Theiss finished fourth in the second b-main to lock into the 20th starting spot in the finale. During the course of the 40 lap affair, Austin advanced to an eighteenth place finish in the finale rundown.
